GENERAL DESCRIPTION

OB3358 is a highly integrated and cost effective Light Emitting Diode (LED) driver optimized for LCD monitor and LCD TV backlighting application. It provides a high performance LED backlight solution with minimized BOM count.

The controller implements a peak current mode control scheme and an internal transconductance amplifier to accurately control the output current over a wide input and load conditions.

OB3358 supports PWM and analog combination dimming which allow flexible control of the backlight luminance. PWM dimming is achieved by low frequency PWM signal input at LPWM pin. Analog dimming is achieved by high frequency PWM signal input at HPWM pin.

OB3358 offers comprehensive protection such as power MOSFET over current protection (OCP), output over voltage protection (OVP), LED string open/short protection, diode & inductor short protection, LED cathode short to GND protection, LED cathode short to FB protection, IC power supply under voltage lockout (UVLO), and over temperature protection (OTP).

OB3358 is offered in SOP8 and ESOP8 Packages.
